Role:  As part of the front-end development team for new and existing projects, the Print Specialist / Technical Services Representative will ensure that jobs are specified to their optimum process, liaising closely with both customer and internal functions as appropriate. 

• Liaise with Customers and PMA’s regarding New Projects, and Label Specifications (this can include discussions about all aspects of the label design, print, costing and timings) 
• Work closely with the Customer Services & Graphics teams to ensure all areas of the process are captured before jobs go to press 
• Attend Print Production Meetings (PPM) when required 
• Review new artworks 
• Create Print Specifications for new projects 
• Create Costing for proofing exercises. 
• Create Syspro estimates. 
• Understand Metric pricing model. 
• Create pricing within the Metric pricing model. 
• Create Colour Standards, to customer specifications 
• Maintenance of Sequence families for all related Customers. 
• Raise Studio Orders for new and amended artworks, or transfer of work 
• Order tooling for new projects 
• Work with Customers when attending onsite proofing and press approvals 
• Act on behalf of Customer, for proofing and press approvals, when they are unable to attend themselves 
• Keep control of designated Customers/ranges 
• Input ink coverage % into CMS. 
• Actively support and promote CI initiatives within your areas.  
• Actively seek process improvements and cost saving initiatives throughout the business. 
• Understand the Company Quality, Hygiene and Environmental Policies in relation to the relevant standards (specifically BS EN ISO 9001 & PS 9000) and actively promote these within the business. 

Requirements:

• Experience of a similar role within a fast-moving Label Printers / FMCG (fast moving consumer goods) environment i.e. Print Specialist / Technical Services Representative
• Technical knowledge of printing processes - print and packaging
• Good organizational, problem solving and time management skills
• Experienced within a packaging manufacturer preferred
• Well-rounded communication skills and the potential to liaise with all levels in an organization including customers. 
• Knowledge of working in a fast-moving technical environment. 
• Full understanding of combination print reprographics & print process.
